My best friend's wedding weekend

This past weekend was my best friend, Kristen Heineken's (now Symons) wedding. A lot was packed in those few days, but we sure had a blast! Here's the weekend in pictures.

The wedding party was pretty big but what a lovely group of people! I had a great time meeting new people from all over the country. We had a blast and everyone got along great:The reception was seriously the funnest (not a word) one I've been to in my entire life! I had never seen so many people dancing and having fun! Cutting the cake:
Kimmel and Jena, and me

Congratulations to Kristen and Scott, I hope you have a blast in Cancun and come back relaxed and ready to make your move to Alabama!

Interview

My interview went really well this morning...it was a peer interview where 4 people from the department asked me probing questions about my personal life, j/k! But they did ask some pretty tough questions (job related) that I thought I answered pretty well.

Then later this afternoon I spoke with the director of the education department and she unofficially gave me the job! She just has to go through the paperwork process before she can talk money and start date! I'm excited! : )

Update in words

So! Summer is in full swing and we're enjoying ourselves here in Louisville...and staying quite busy too.

What's been going on?
*Braden has already taken two week-long summer classes, Hermanutics and Old Testament. Those weeks were pretty exhausting for him because he also worked his early morning shift at UPS and then had full days of class from 8-5; but we're both glad for him to be able to get some credits out of the way so he can focus on his counseling classes in the fall.

*We've been playing alot of soccer lately and have joined a co-ed soccer team with friends and people that Braden works with at UPS. It's been great, we both love the sport and our team isn't half bad! Currently we're 1-1.

This week:
*I have an interview tommorrow for a possibility of transfering to the education department at the hospital I work at...it would be a small raise and a great opportunity. I'll keep you posted.

*Braden's dad is in town this week working on his doctorate up at Southern. Him and I both share our birthdays this week, so we'll be celebrating for sure!

*This weekend we travel home again to St. Louis for my friend, Kristen Heineken's wedding...pictures to follow, for sure!

Bats Game

Braden took me to a Louisville Bats game tonight at the Slugger Field. They beat the Mud Hens (haha! what a name!) 8-2. It was pretty fun, the stadium was really nice. As always, here are some pictures:
