My first Quilt!

The ladies at our church here in Louisville have a sewing/craft group that meets on Tuesday afternoons to work on various projects. I have taught a few ladies to knit and now they're teaching me to quilt! So far, I have all the pieces cut and ready to be sewn. I'm so glad to be putting my scrap fabric to good use! p.s. I love how Callie is in the background in this picture...she probably thinks her mommy is crazy! haha! :)

Free Card Project

Oxmoor mall (here in Louisville) has one of my favorite scrapbooking stores, Archivers. Starting today (until the 21st), they have a free thank you card project. I'm always needing thank you cards so I thought I'd pass it along. Here's how my cards turned out:

My little girl is getting stronger and lifting her head up when she lays on her tummy.
I keep telling her to slow down on the growing...but she won't listen. ;)

French Press Knit Slippers

I finished my first felting project last week! I'm so proud of myself that I thought I'd post pictures...plus I think they turned out super cute and had to share! :)Buy the pattern here.

Snow Day = Project Day

Being snowed in today, I've had a little extra time on my hands to work on/finish a few knitting/crochet projects. Here's what I've been up to lately:

I knit this warm hat for my sister for her Birthday last month. I made an extra one too and put it up for sale in my shop. Check it out if you're interested:Knitted more than a couple of these teddy bears for friends who are expecting/had a baby recently (pattern found here):Started crocheting a blanket for my other sister, whose Birthday is next month (pattern found here):
And for my Callie girl, I've been slowly knitting a little sweater for her to wear next fall...it's my first sweater, and I know it'll take me a while, so that's why I've stared so far in advance. Here's what it looks like so far (and the end result and pattern can be found here):It pays to be a friend of a knitter/crocheter! :)

And just for kicks, here is a recent picture of Callie in her Bumbo!

Update

I've been really bad about updating this blog lately (not that I've ever been really consistent in the past), but things have been a bit busy around here and I've been spending my time enjoying my baby girl and each new milestone that comes. I don't want to take my eyes off her for fear that I'll miss something...she's only going to be this little for a short time!

To give you a break from the endless pictures of Callie, here's some cool blog posts/websites that I've recently come across. I'd love to make every single one of them, but there just isn't enough time in a day...maybe eventually! :)

Revamp an old t-shirt, like this:Knit this beret for my little one:
Make this amazing shrimp pasta dish (looks so yummy!):Save on wrapping paper this holiday season by using these instead:Crochet more clutches like this (on sale in my etsy shop) :
Ok, that is all...now to resume posts of pictures of Callie! haha! :)

40 weeks!

Today was my pregnancy "due date" and I have been blessed to have Callie in my arms for the past 10 days! She is so precious, I look forward to watching her grow. Already, I can't believe how much she's grown in one week:
